Dear Prayer Partners,

For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you (Psalms 86:5, ESV).

Greetings from wet Senegal. Please know we have been praying for those affected by the hurricane. Our son, Alex was driving up the east coast a day or so ahead of the storm. He reached school safe and sound. We are still in the rainy season. Ramadan just ended yesterday, August 31. I think it is safe to say that everyone here is glad to see the end of Ramadan.

Thank you for your prayers for the Mandinka people and our family. Richard is continuing to do well. He is helping with a Bible study in Dakar while a colleague is away from the field. Two men in the group are Mandinkas. One of the guys has left Dakar to sell items in the southern part of the country. It has been very encouraging for us to meet these two, DS, and YD. We had the wonderful opportunity to witness YD and three other men be baptized last Sunday! Praise the Lord!

Please continue to pray for JS. I don’t have much to update. He is still waiting for his paper work to be completed in Senegal. The school officials at Oneida are very patient and we are grateful for that. JS is disappointed that the process is taking so long. Please pray for MyS, JS’s sister as she is starting her second year at Oneida. We continue to pray that all of the love that is being shown to MyS and JS will help soften their dad, MS’s heart. Please lift him up as he is battling malaria right now.

Our son, Patrick and I are in Sedhiou for a week or two. SD, BnC, DD and I will be making visits to the villages getting ready for the Hunter Street team that will do the screening for the cataract surgery. Please pray for these times in the village that we will be able to communicate clearly our purpose for being there. Please pray that we will be sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Please especially lift up BnC and DD as they spend time with SD as we move between villages.

Thank you for your persistence to pray for the Mandinka people.

Your sister in Christ,

Fran
