A Psalm. Oh sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things! His right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him (Psalms 98:1, ESV).

Happy New Year! We enjoyed watching fireworks from a rooftop in Dakar. It was a beautiful display. It is great that the year begins on the Lord’s Day. We need a day of rest before we begin to delve into the business of 2012. We are in need of your prayers more than ever as we prepare for the cataract surgery later this month. In addition to the daily prayer requests please lift the following

  • It is time for important equipment to be shipped to Senegal from a neighboring country. Please pray that it will arrive on time and without any problems with customs.
  • Travel mercies for the surgery team and the follow-up team and all necessary supplies.
  • Travel mercies for the surgery candidates and their families. Many of the patients live in villages that they have to walk or use a donkey cart to get to a place that they can take a “taxi”.
  • Physical and Spiritual life changing experiences for the patients.
  • Good relations with hospital and local governing officials.
  • God’s name will be glorified in all that is said and done.

Thank you for praying for the Dickinson family. They are preparing to come to the field to work among the Mandinka people. They will be going through an orientation program soon. Please continue to lift them in your prayers as they say their “good-byes” and begin this next step to prepare for their ministry among the Mandinka.

We want to thank all of you who have given to missions through the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Please remember that 100 % of your gifts to Lottie Moon goes to the field. We really appreciate your willingness to give sacrificially to enable the Gospel to reach the lost.

We want to give you an update on Richard. He is still improving. He leaves early morning of January 2 to go to South Africa for tests. We are praying that he will get the OK to return to Sedhiou and continue working among the Mandinka there. We know the Lord is sovereign and are trusting Him for the outcome.
